Moletto: a family company
The support that Mario Stival received from his wife Annamaria when the company was founded was fundamental. And so was the subsequent collaboration, from the beginning of the 1980s, of their children, Mauro, Chiara and Giovanni, who were able to elevate the Moletto wines, already established and appreciated locally, to an international level by giving them a quality and a “character” which has been at the heart of their success.
“We are committed to bringing out the best this territory has to offer through the preservation of its natural environment and all the traditional warmth of its past and through our fervent, on-going dedication to the creation of high-quality products following in the footsteps of the centuries'-old mission and legacy of this land.”
Modern winemaking avails itself of new scientific and technological methods, that whilst respecting nature, aim to bring wines of exceptional to your table.
The use made of modern technology at Moletto winery is solely for the purpose of perfecting the various stages of wine production. None of us will ever be convinced that technology will be able to take man's place as long as our senses and our heart are still needed to appreciate the joy of a glass of wine.
We should like to think that whosoever receives our wine, has more than just a bottle of wine: he has a small part of the world where it was made and also of the people who produced it.
In the wine cellar, avant-garde technology is combined with the best in wine-making tradition
Today the Moletto winery boasts a friendly team, which only a family can have, driven by enthusiasm and entrepreneurship, while remaining faithful at all times to our roots. These roots are embedded in the land and require dedication as well as care, passion and hard work. These roots are what we call “wine culture”, by which we mean they are a gift from the land to those who love, cherish and respect it.
From the Veneto, the Italian region historically most involved in traditional distillation, comes an original gin that combines carefully chosen botanical varieties of juniper berries from the Alps and Mediterranean maquis, with the originality of the tomato.
Moletto Gin is produced using the alcohol from selected mixed grains, and two spirits made from botanical varieties of juniper berries: from Mediterranean maquis – known as the best – and from the Alps.
But the gin’s originality comes from a botanical feature that distinguishes and characterizes it: the tomato.
Its ingredients also include an exceptionally pure natural element, spring water from the Dolomites, light and well-balanced, which is used to reduce the alcoholic strength.
(Solanum lycopersicum L.) Think of tomatoes and you think of the Mediterranean, in particular Italy, where cultivation of the most famous red fleshy fruit in the world began.
Juniper berries (Juniperi fructus), more specifically galbuli, release a characteristic spicy scent and a sweet, aromatic-spicy taste. They give the gin its main flavour.
In shaker, muddle the mint & cucumber with the lemon juice, agave & elderflower.
Add the gin. Shake with ice and strain into a highball glass filled with fresh ice.
Top with a splash of club soda. Garnish with a lemon and cucumber slice.
